![]() ![]() The over-dramatic ritualistic aspects of S&B are mainly about bonding disparate students together quickly and in a way that might still be honored over the long-term. That seems to be what WhisperAgain is trying to say. The trick is to create a strong enough bond that it actually holds-up over the years. But because this is Yale we're talking about, this old-boys network quite naturally becomes both high-level and wide-ranging over time. That's really what most of the old-boys clubs were about anyway-networking and success-bonding. I think WhisperAgain is just saying what is almost certainly the real truth: that some time ago a handful of bright young guys at Yale realized, "Hey, since we Yale grads are already pre-selected for the fast-track to Western-Corporate success, wouldn't it be smart to establish a life-long bond among a few of us and agree that we'll always try to help each other out in the future?"
